Grassington

Grassington, often described as a village, is more of a small town. It is one of the best loved places in the Yorkshire Dales with its own museum set in one of the village’s cottages, showcasing history from its farming and lead-mining past. Walking, pony trekking, caving, pot holing and bowling are just some of the things you can do in Grassington. Walking is especially popular as Grassington is in Wharfedale, the heart of the Yorkshire Dales. The Grassington festival takes place every year in the summer months; there are jazz musicians and classical orchestras, craft shows and workshops. As Christmas approaches, the local people dress in Dickensian clothes to add that little extra to the festive season. Accommodation is of a very high standard with hotels and bed and breakfasts and self catering holiday cottages in and around Grassington.  Â
